The name, which has been associated with more luxurious buildings since the Roman period, is associated in Banja with all buildings for rental, even with one bed, regardless of their size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking at photos and old postcards with buildings, one cannot but see the arranged yard, except at those buildings erected on the alignment line within the public area. Thus, it can be assumed that for the people of Vrnja\u010dka Banja and those in love with it, the ambiance was what contributed to adding the determinant &#8220;villa&#8221; in front of the name of the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Villa &#8220;Sotirovi\u0107&#8221;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hotel &#8220;Sotirovi\u0107&#8221; was built in 1904 and was the first real hotel in the heart of Banja. The construction was made possible by the funds obtained from the work of one of the oldest Vrnja\u010dka timber plants built at the end of the 19th century on Go\u010d. The hotel owner was merchant Zarija Sotirovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/7-sloboda-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3454\" width=\"838\" height=\"548\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/7-sloboda-1.jpg 676w, https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/7-sloboda-1-300x196.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 838px) 100vw, 838px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hotel had 36 rooms and a restaurant with Serbian and French cuisine. The hotel guests were mainly celebrities from the capital. In the 1930s, this hotel had a roulette room. After World War II, the building was nationalized and the owners were left with only a smaller apartment. The name of the building was changed to hotel &#8220;Sloboda.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Villa &#8220;Orlovac&#8221;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most significant building of Vrnja\u010dka Banja hospitality, &#8220;Zvezda hotel.&#8221; Formerly &#8220;Orlovac&#8221;, then &#8220;Soldatovi\u0107&#8221;, then &#8220;KOOP&#8221;. &#8220;Zvezda&#8221; changed its character, from a ground floor building to a magnificent building tailored to Vrnja\u010dka Banja. Everyone in Serbia and beyond knew about the hotel. It was a symbol and pride of Vrnja\u010dka Banja. The biggest parties of craftsmen, merchants, hospitality workers, pigeon breeders, and almost all other associations could not be imagined elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"736\" src=\"http:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/5-zvezda-1024x736.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2974\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/5-zvezda-1024x736.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/5-zvezda-300x216.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/5-zvezda-768x552.jpg 768w, https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/5-zvezda-1536x1103.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/5-zvezda.jpg 1573w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Villa Avala<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the site of today&#8217;s villa &#8220;Avala&#8221; in the eighties of the 19th century, innkeeper Kosta Petrovi\u0107 Rakica built a ground floor building called &#8220;Stanovi Raki\u010di\u0107a&#8221;. The building had 16 rooms for rent, a balcony and a kitchen, and in the yard was the first bakery in Vrnja\u010dka Banja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"504\" src=\"http:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/1-31-23877-min-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2518\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/1-31-23877-min-1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/1-31-23877-min-1-300x189.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/1-31-23877-min-1-768x484.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the beginning of the 20th century, the building and the plot were bought by merchant Bo\u0161ko Jankovi\u0107 from Trstenik and baker Gavrilo Beli\u0107 from Vrnja\u010dka Banja. Soon, Bo\u0161ko Jankovi\u0107 became the sole owner and added a floor to the building without changing its basic stylistic shape, calling it &#8220;Avala.&#8221; During World War I, Avala accommodated a block for recovery and rehabilitation of wounded soldiers and part for the accommodation of British Red Cross staff. During the 1930s, the villa was managed by Dr. Van\u0111el Tasi\u0107, Dr. Borivoje Bra\u0161i\u0107 and Dr. F. Ginsberger. The villa is now owned by several individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Villa &#8220;Kosovo&#8221;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Villa &#8220;Kosovo&#8221; was built in 1913 by famous professor Mina Miljkovi\u0107, a descendant of those Miljkovi\u0107s from Vrnja\u010dka Banja about whom a book was written. Professor Mina has been gone for a long time, and in 2005 died Dr. Milica, his daughter, who lived for 98 years. Both father and daughter retreated from Ohrid across Albania, back in 1915, he as the Ohrid Grammar School principal, she as an elementary school student. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"641\" src=\"http:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/slika-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9593\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/slika-4.png 1024w, https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/slika-4-300x188.png 300w, https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/slika-4-768x481.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Milica&#8217;s mother died in Nice in 1915, and Milica returned with her brother to Yugoslavia, again to Ohrid, where Mina was again appointed grammar school principal. Mina died in the mid-fifties, and Milica lived in Banja for a while and then moved to Vr\u0161ac to work as a doctor. In recent years, she has been coming to Banja every summer with her sister Jelica, born out of Mina&#8217;s second marriage. Now only Jelica comes to &#8220;Kosovo.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Villa &#8220;Simi\u0107&#8221;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It used to be the pride of the famous Vukovi\u0107 family of Vrnja\u010dka Banja, owned by the pioneer of Vrnja\u010dka Banja hospitality Milan Vukovi\u0107. In the early thirties of the last century, he reconstructed and finished the villa &#8220;Simi\u0107&#8221;, more built than reconstructed, and gave the building the name &#8220;\u0160vajcarija&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"660\" src=\"http:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/slika.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7984\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/slika.png 1024w, https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/slika-300x193.png 300w, https:\/\/vrnjackabanja.co.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/slika-768x495.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It used to be the highest category hotel, with beautiful rooms, salons with pianos and gramophones, radios, a kitchen that the most famous hotels would envy even today, and with cars that brought distinguished guests to and from the train station. &#8220;\u0160vajcarija&#8221; was the meeting place of the local Serbian elite, especially in winter, when everything would calm down and the summer murmur would be forgotten.
